I’ve re-blogged this post where David at The Skeptic’s Kaddish wrote a beautiful accompaniment to a poem of mine. I’m so honoured to have been included in his Poetry Partners series! All the partnership poems are wonderful; they’re well worth a read-through.
UPDATE
There has been an issue with the re-blog of this post, so here is the poem I wrote, and a link to David’s post. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I fell in love Precisely because you asked me not to said I was foolish one of thousands a fly in your soup Common. but you had to concede that you revealed yourself to me so what I could not control I reveled in thinking, one day I'll tell you what all we have in Common. Both your poem and your friend response are beautiful. Poetry is really of a thousand faces, a thousand tongues. Thank you in sharing π

What I have found about David’s poetry partnership is he sucks poets up like a vacuum and makes everything sound the same, which is actually different than finding out what humans have in common. I can’t stand his poetry partnerships series. You’re a good poet. You don’t need poetry siphons. But I understand you wanting to connect with writing peers.
Hey π First, thank you for saying I’m a good poet. I hope what I post has something to offer to readers. I promised myself when I started this blog I would not waste anyone’s time, and I believe I’ve been true to that. Regarding David’s series, I do think it’s good for building community. As for making everything sound the same, he writes a response to each in his own style, so I suppose they are likely to have a particular style. I have a proposition for you- would you write a poem to pair with that same poem of mine, and I’ll post them together? I’d like to read a companion piece with your take on it. Let me know if you’re interested.
Do you mean a response to this line:
“Lovingly, or: All we have in common” ?
No, there was a problem with this post, i don’t know how it looked for you, but I’ve edited it now and you should see the original poem I wrote. I thought maybe you could write something to pair with it? No pressure obviously. π
I like your poem. the link to David’s poem bounces me to a warning about it not being a safe site tho. lol. maybe I should take it as a sign. I’m not sure working on the same prompt with him is a good idea for me, since i’m not into his group-on coupons. I apologize for any offense i may have caused you but not so much the “community”
peace Anne. you’re cool.
no worries βΊοΈ thanks Steven
